Playing with the camera

Saturday, July 8th, 2000

So I got my camera back today (err… yesterday now, it seems *grin*). Anyway, I went over to Trae’s and had a nice dinner with him and his wife, Mary.

While visiting, I fixed up his website directory indexing to be strikingly similar to my own. *g*

Something you would find more interesting, however, are the very goofy pictures he took of me with my replacement camera.

Where, oh where is my little camera?

Saturday, July 8th, 2000

It’s now 10:30am on this Saturday, and my camera isn’t here yet.

I’ll probably update this Real Soon Now. (At least, I hope so…)

Update: At precisely 1:00pm today, I got a knock on my door from the FedEx guy requesting my signature. He brought my camera to me, safe and sound!

Olympus Camera Stuff

Friday, July 7th, 2000

I’m getting an Olympus C-3030Z. My C-2000Z was recently in the repair center to get a replacement directional button, and while doing the work, the Olympus technician damaged the CCD, LCD viewfinder, and the standard viewfinder. Because of this, strange pixels were showing up in all my pictures, my lcd screen had bad pixels, and the viewfinder had debris inside.

Needless to say, I spent a very long time on the phone trying to correct the situation. Since they were all out of C-2000Zs, I had to upgrade. I chose the C-3030Z, and it’s costing me $600 extra.

A bad situation (broken camera) has turned out to be somewhat benefitial,as now I get a better camera and can postpone purchasing a new one for a bit. *grin*

New pictures will start showing up soon, as long as the new camera works. Oh, and I guess I have to update my "Photos" icon at the top of the page soon. (^:

LinuxArt updates!

Wednesday, July 5th, 2000

I revised the directory indexer, and redid the photos page to match the front page a bit better. *grin*

Tons of themes.

Wednesday, July 5th, 2000

This past [extended] weekend, I posted several themes to Themes.org:

  • Premier, based on a mockup I did for the next-gen GTK+ default look and feel.
  • Adept-Premier, a cross between the GTK+ themes Premier (above) and Adept (an .rc file theme)
  • Adept for Sawfish, a Sawfish theme that matches Adept-Premier quite nicely.

Have fun, and enjoy the themes!

LinuxArt news

Yes, LinuxArt finally has a news system, driven by a database backend. Woohoo!
