Getting ready for LWCE

Sunday, January 28th, 2001

I’ll be going to LinuxWorld up in New York here in a few days. It will be exciting. I intend on snapping a lot of photographs of the event and of the city as well. Expect the pictures to show up here soon!

PS: If you’re also attending, see you at the show!

More on random photo thumbnails…

Monday, January 15th, 2001

Not to be outdone, Trae decided to copy my idea with the random thumbnails. I should have patented the idea! (Just kidding!) Anyway, as his archive has different photos than mine, I guess it is okay. *grin*

Anyway, you know how to find his site by now, I’m sure. (:

New Layout!

Saturday, January 13th, 2001

Yes, that’s right — it’s that time again. I have unveiled a new layout for LinuxArt.com. Some of the new features (other than the look stuff), is a more functional page, things are organized a bit nicer, the random photos, and advanced photo viewing (well, it’s in an html page, and only available from the random photos right now).

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the new look and added features! Drop me a line and let me know what you think.

Camera update

Thursday, January 11th, 2001

So it turns out that a few of my smartmedia cards suddenly died for no apparent reason. Unfortunately, that included two of my 32 meg cards. Luckily, the 64 is still as flaky as usual, meaning that it still works in the capacity that it did before (it’s the only one which is not made by Olympus, so I assume it’s a little odd because of that). Anyway, the camera is fine, but I can’t take too many pictures anymore (until I purchase new cards, at least). It’s strange that the three oldest of the five cards I own all decided to stop working at the same time, almost like they were all programmed to expire on a given date.

Bottom line: A couple smartmedia cards are (slightly) less expensive than another new camera.

Oh no! Not again!

So I’ve been on the road for a meeting, and took my digital camera along. It seems that it has decided not to read or write to the flash cards anymore. Unfortunately, smartmedia is the only way for it to store images, so for the time being, I’m cameraless. Hopefully it might spontaneously start working once more, as I really don’t want to deal with Olympus again. Wish me luck! (:
