Site Revision

Tuesday, October 30th, 2001

I’m back from Boston. My cable modem is also back up (it went down while I was up there — I had very limited access via dial-up for almost a week as a result).

Anyway, I figured I would push live a few site revisions that I’ve made recently. Nothing much, just felt like now was the time to make them official. (:

Off to Boston

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2001

I’m flying to Boston today. It’s for work. It should be interesting. (It’ll be my first time in the area up there, fwiw).

Anyway, I should remember to lug my camera along with me, in case an oppertunity or few arise to make for some neat pictures.

Fishy Bowling

Monday, October 22nd, 2001

So… I went bowling the other night.

Normally, I throw the ball super-fast and fierce. People always comment on the force I use to hurl the heavy object down the alley. Anyway, the big joke has always been that I should be a little less forcefull when heaving the bowling ball down the lane, or I might break it.

Well, last weekend, I broke a ball near the end of the game. It wasn’t just a little nick off the side, but a major crack and a huge chunk of bowling ball fell off somewhere at the back of our lane. I had been getting a few strikes and such, but the last frame, with the chip missing (why replace the ball at the end?), it was headed for the frontmost pin when it hit the gap in the ball and suddenly veered off course.

Anyway, I never really seriously thought I would chip a ball. It ended up looking like Fred Flintstone’s rock of a bowling ball.

I should have taken pictures… too bad I didn’t have my camera with me.

Hi Nat!

Thursday, October 18th, 2001

Okay, so Nat wants people to link to him as Nat on his site Nat.org so that Google will show him on a search for "Nat". I can totally appreciate that, as a Google for "Garrett" now brings up my homepage as the #1 hit (woohoo!).

So, I’d also like for more people to link to me as Garrett too, and would also take this time to mention that people should link to Nat‘s site as well. Continuing the list of sites to link, I have a suggestion of a few others as well:

Let’s make Google happy! (:

New Photos

Wednesday, October 17th, 2001

I added a few new sets of photos to the gallery. I haven’t posted about them yet, so I figured I might as well.

Enjoy! (:

Site Navigation Bar

Sunday, October 7th, 2001

Mozilla now has what is called the "Site Navigation Bar", previously known as the "Links Bar". It is a brand new feature, and I have implemented its use on the photo archive browser.

For more information about the bar, check out MozillaZine’s coverage, or just check it out in action @ the photo archives.

Oh, and you need a pretty recent nightly build, and to have the bar enabled. *smile*

East Coast! West Coast!

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2001

Okay, LinuxArt.com is back on the West coast again. For a short while, we moved to a box located in New York City, and it just happened to be near the World Trade Center at the time. Due to the obvious, we’ve been in the process of moving back. It’s back now. Fun.

In semi-unrelated news, I have taken a bunch of pictures that I should be posting on the site throughout the next few days.
