Internet access

As of this past Wednesday, I have a cable modem at my apartment. This is great news, and, to celebrate, I plan on uploading some pictures to my website this weekend. I might also go venture out around the Raleigh area with my camera ready as well.

    Internet access!

That explains the long time since the last post…
It sounds like the people at Redhat really like some of your hardware better watch out πŸ™‚
I heard through a rumour that redhat was going to start a distro for PPC so maybe you will push that along πŸ™‚

From what I’ve heard, Redhat’s PPC distro will be for the IBM RS6000s only. Not quite sure about PMac compatibility. I don’t care either way, im a Deb-head πŸ™‚

    welcome to raleigh

Not sure where your apartment is in Raleigh, but I’ve been in Raleigh for a year-and-a-half now, and I’ve taken several photos of the area. For nature photos, you might check out William Umstead Park or Shelly Lake (which are both in North Raleigh). We lived in an apartment for the first year we were here, but we recently bought a house on the NE side of Raleigh.

Also, I just heard that RedHat moved from RTP (Research Triangle Park) to Raleigh. That should be a *much* improved commute for you, since driving to "the Park" is a nightmare. That is, unless you’re tele-commuting. πŸ˜‰ Anyway, welcome to Raleigh — we love it here.

    places to photograph

There are a couple of places within "lunch hour distance" of
the new office that would make for interesting photos. Downtown
raleigh of course, NCSU campus, the wooden areas on Centennial
campus, and Lake Johnson. MC Mueusum of Art is also pretty close
    (maybe 5 mins drive…)

And you can drive to Cary and take pictures of townhomes and SUVs.

    purpley power station

I’m sure you can do something desktop-worthy with the purpley lit-up power substation downtown.

    Welcome to the area! πŸ™‚
