Butterfly house

Saturday, June 29th, 2002

I went to the local butterfly house today. It rocked. I got a lot of great pictures, which I’ll post once I update my gallery a bit.

Speaking of updating my gallery, I’m modifying it to support my new camera. I already have it resizing on the fly now, thanks to Muks and some of his crazy software magic. (:

Yes, the Zoo pictures and others will also be posted soon. *smile*

Update: I have uploaded a few and made them available for viewing.

New Metacity theme: Metabox

Wednesday, June 26th, 2002

I have recieved many inquiries concerning the Metacity theme I showed off in my latest screenshots. It’s called "Metabox", and I made it. You can now download it.

To install it, untar the theme in ~/.metacity/themes/ and switch over to it, type "gconftool-2 –type=string –set /apps/metacity/general/theme Metabox".

How do you launch?

GnomeDesktop.org has a poll where they ask "How do you typically launch GUI based apps in GNOME?" Go there, vote, and comment. (:

Classic concentration

Wednesday, June 26th, 2002

A few people over at the Mozilla project are concentrating on trying to improve the classic theme. They are modifying toolbar buttons and even posting a usable skin to try out.

If you are a fan of Mozilla, and like the classic skin, you will most definately want to check out the changes.

Off to the zoo

I’m headed to the local Zoo. It’s supposed to be nice. (:

The great lens race: Winner announced!

Friday, June 21st, 2002

The Canon lens from B&H was the first to arrive this morning. The wide angle Sigma should be waiting for my pickup today, however. (:

Now that I have a little zoom to my camera, I think I’ll see about visiting the nearby zoo this weekend (weather permitting).
