Building a better DOS

The folks over at the FreeDOS32 project are working on building a 32-bit verision of DOS.

It’s essentially a 32-bit kernel which will grow to include true multitasking, support for multiple filesystems, native 32-bit software support, and a host of other features. They plan on recycling a good bit of code from the FreeDOS project and also from the Linux kernel.

Pretty wacky stuff.
