Los Angeles has a faulty red light camera. It has been in operation for over three years now, with over three thousand fine errors. It will cost the city over half a million in an attempt to set things straight.

Charolette is slated for installation of these devices. Chapel Hill is also next on the drawing board. Durham and Raleigh aren’t too far behind as well.

(Speaking of bad red lights, “Roxanne” by Puff Daddy seems to be a sampled Sting song with a few “yeah, yeah”s tossed in for hip-hop effect.)

Anyway, after seeing quite a few people run through red lights, I can understand why some people think this is a good solution. I don’t like the fact that there is yet another ever-watching eye of the government (yay, fun), however, especially if it can be faulty as stated in the first article.
