This Fourth of July, (as previously mentioned) I went down to the local Raleigh fairgrounds.

There were lots of people all over, even a few hours before the fireworks began. Allea, Theresa, Laura, and myself forged our way through the crowd in the purpose of foraging for food. Finding a shaved ice merchant sitting right next to a lady trying to sell salty pretzels, we decided to hover over the area a bit, in something that distantly seemed to be a line.

Allea got the ice, and only the ice while Theresa (and Laura) bought both the ice and a pretzel. I purchased only the pretzel. Wow was that thing ever too salty. It might as well been a salt lick.

The bleachers were very crowded. We sat down and then stood right back up for the color guard and the national anthem. The fireworks were announced, and then (a few minutes later) the music kicked in and the show began.

There were quite a few good fireworks on display. There was everything from multi-part explosions to streamers and everything in between.

Of course, there are many more pictures in this set of photos. Check them all out.
