I have been using a pre-release for a while now, and it is a big leap for Gimp…P.S. Glad they got the website updated. It needed it.

    and there was much rejoicing.

I thought the website update was very classy, also. and it’s about time that 2.0 came out, makes debian releases look speedy 😉

Downloaded and compiled it and its rock solid (so far 🙂 ). The only thing I miss in it is the plugin "Refocused" which is the best sharpening tool I have used (that goes for anything for Photoshop too). I tried to recompile it for Gimp 2.0 but it didn’t like it :(Doesn’t matter though as I can still do that part of it in Gimp 1.2 :))Have you ever used refocused Garrett?

  4. Refocused

It’s the first I’ve heard of it.

Are you referring to refocus? I also found a different plug-in called "refocus-it", which also looks quite interesting.

Gimp v2! Unstoppable. And the website update is nearly just as exciting… it had been untouched for so long, I thought they’d never update it.

    Sorry I spelt it wrong

Hi Garrett. My applogises. Yes it’s called "refocus". This pluggin is amazing. If you get a chance to try it I highly recommend it. Here are a couple of samples of a hopper I took and then ran the photo’s through "refocus". The camera I used was a Fuji FinePix s5000. The original photo was quite soft and the only other image post-processing I did was to resize the photo’s:

    Macro Hopper.

    Macro Hopper 2.

Great shots of the grasshopper… any chance you could post the originals for comparison?

  8. Franck Alcidi says:

    Original before "refocus"

Hi Anthony, here is one of the shots before I ran it through "refocus". Notice how much softer it is as well as there being not as much detail in the eye’s and feet.

    Original Hopper – Just resized

    does it compile against 2.0?

Hm, see subject; it didn’t work for me 🙁 Where did you got it from? With a little investigation I got it working, though and informed the maintainer. I just wanna know if there is already a precompiled version ready?bye neri
