“It’s all ungreek to me”

Ungreek is a tool to generate text filler alternatives to the often used lorem ipsum. Of course, if you want more control (like even more source texts — including arbitrary ones), then there’s the always-fun DadaDodo.

All of the above is pretty useful, especially when needing filler for mockups, website templates, or anywhere else you need to have the feel of text in a design.

I would sometimes use movie scripts for fillers 🙂

What I want to know is, why do they call it ‘greeking’. It’s clearly not greek.

  3. Garrett, hey there. Dunno if you remember me, but I’ve been lurking around for quite some time now. If those screenshots are dated properly, it must be four years now or more. Wow, how time flies.

Anyway; two questions for you. One is not really a question; UPDATE YOUR SCREENSHOTS! 🙂 I used to refresh your site /all the time/ looking for cool new screenshots from you – and now your latest one is an entire year old! Your screenshot-lets and mockups are beautiful, and I would love to see the rest of your desktop. I’m sure that there are still some old-school hackers out there who enjoy seeing other people’s desktops.

Ok, number two. You are a Gnome proponent – and your lovely mockups and screenshot-lets have rubbed off on me, and I’m making my way back to the land of Gnome and GTK. While shirking the weight of KDE, I’ve yet to find an adequate Gnome2 finance manager (or at least just a finance tracker) – do you think that there’s one you could recommend?

  4. Hey! Yeah, I remember ya! (:

I was actually thinking about that on the drive down for Thanksgiving. I’ll try to find time to update things this week.
