Posting pictures again

Little luminous jellyfish

I’m posting pictures again, this time on Flickr. It’s been really nice so far — I can easily upload any picture I’ve taken from any time (over the past several years). Unlike the custom gallery I wrote, it’s very flexible and easy to maintain.

I’m also working on some custom ‘glue’ (via the Flickr API) to better integrate them into my own website, so you’ll see more stuff around here soon.

Path to the windmills

In the mean time, I’ll keep posting some here in my ‘blog, but you’ll want to go to my Flickr page to see a whole lot more. (I’ll try to post something new nearly every day or so.)

Things change overnight

Monday, January 23rd, 2006

Last night, I went to bed and it was an ordinary Sunday night. This morning, when I woke up, there was a bunch of snow outside — and snow is steadily falling still. It’s a little hard to believe that I was actually in short sleeves this past weekend.

I think I’ll take my camera with me to work today…

Nice new car that does 330 miles per gallon

Monday, January 23rd, 2006

There’s a report of a new car that does a whopping 330 miles per gallon, allowing one to (supposedly) traval from one coast of the United States to the other on a single tank of gas.

The best quote of the article:

“Rather than designing to a styling aesthetic, like the big auto makers do, we hew to an efficiency and safety aesthetic. When you do that, math and physics mostly dictate the shape of the car, and in this case, math and physics look awesome.”

It does indeed look nice. With such a different shape, I’m wondering how it would take impacts (especially side and rear ones)…

Leaked picture of the Canon 30D

Oh man, the new Canon 30D looks awesome! So many great features! (via Nelson’s linkblog)

I think it’s finally almost time to retire my old Canon D60 camera body.

Yes, I upgraded to WordPress 2 too.

Oh man. Sorry about the postspam on various planets. It seems as most everyone on Planet Gnome has been doing it.

It may be that Planet needs an anti-blog-upgrade-spam feature. (Or that WordPress needs to not break things…)

Update: I limited my feed to 3 posts for now… I’ll slowly bump it back up as I post more.

Hopefully Microsoft will buy Yahoo! as much as they bought Opera last week.

(Rumors, rumors…)
