Gallery of the Absurd

Tuesday, May 24th, 2005

Gallery of the Absurd (abbreviated as GOAT, which is absurdly is a transposition of letters in the acronym), direct from the Boston area. It’s funny, as I’ve seen some of the same things Erik Wegweiser points out.

Google MBTA

Wednesday, April 20th, 2005

First Chicago’s Transit Authority. Now it’s T time for Google Maps, thanks to Firefox and Greasemonkey.

Everyone in the Boston area using Firefox (with Greasemonkey installed) will love this. (:

Update: Lots of info has been released, along with a call to improve the service.

The weather up north seems frightful

Tuesday, December 28th, 2004

Down here in Georgia, the weather has been slightly chilly and quite rainy. From what I’ve seen from the Weather Channel and elsewhere, the whole East coast north of this state (from South Carolina on up) has recieved a huge winter storm, however. Lots of ice, sleet, and snow has covered up everything, especially in the Boston area.

I wonder what the conditions will be like for the drive back up I-95 in a few days.

What are the conditions like where you are?

Two weekend events in Boston

Saturday, October 23rd, 2004

If you’re in the Boston area, you may want to know about Head of the Charles and the Pumpkin Festival (in Boston Common). Both are happening all day tomorrow, and the Head of the Charles is continuing through Sunday as well.

Each set of activities should offer some great photo opportunities for those with cameras. For non-shutterbugs, the events should still be great fun to attend.

Simulation of parking in Boston, Cambridge, etc.

There’s a little flash game that is a pretty good simulation of what it’s like to park around here.

“The honeymoon is over”

Sunday, August 1st, 2004

The honeymoon just ended and, with a long drive, we moved up to the Boston area late last night.
