On Golden Pond

Friday, July 15th, 2005

We watched On Golden Pond over the span of two nights (we finished it up last night). I highly recommend seeing it if you haven’t already.

The Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy was entertaining and funny, despite what a few others may say. I thoroughly enjoyed it this evening — and did not have any complaints except Zaphod’s head-in-the-neck thing instead of being a true second head.

If you haven’t seen it yet, you should. Be sure to sit through the credits long enough to see the last little entry to the H2G2.

Dick Van Dyke, the computer animation geek

Friday, August 20th, 2004

It’s the very same Dick Van Dyke that starred in Marry Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, My Three Sons, Diagnosis Murder, and many other movies and TV shows — he’s mostly retired now, but enjoys computer animation, especially making his own.

I agree with the writer of the article; he is a genuinely nice guy. I once met him years ago (shook his hand, talked to him one-on-one for a bit, and watched a parade at Disneyland with him and my dad).

It’s really cool to know that he’s into computer animation now.

The Passion of the Christ

I haven’t seen the recent Mel Gibson flick yet (probably will this weekend), but there are a few notable articles about it that are worth mentioning:

Smart bird

BBC News has a nice little story about a smart parrot. It sound almost like a movie plot.

Mac OS X 10.3.2 released

Now that I have a Mac laptop again, it’s nice to see that Lord of the Rings movie. (:

Watch Lord of the Rings

Wednesday, December 17th, 2003

What’s all this Lord of the Rings hype about? You can watch the complete LoTR epic on the ‘Net already! (Quicktime needed.)

More info on the above version of the film is available. It’s probably the only movie version of LoTR where Frodo wears a fedora. (:

In all seriousness, I plan on watching the film on Thursday. Reviews are already out and everything looks very positive thus far.
